Cheese and potatos

I don't know about you, but for years I wouldn't touch a potato and as much as I love cheese I knew it went straight to my ass. The truth is, potatos and cheese are not the enemy.
Potatos are a great source or potassium and much needed whole carbs and vitamins needed for energy and healing after a hard workout. The evil associated with potato is what we do to prepare them and eat them, the sour cream, and deep fat fried, the butter...
(a lot of frozen potato products like hashbrown and fries have been fried before they were freeze dried as well)
As an alternative bake your potato or microwave it for 6 mins, or even cut them into 2-3 inch chunks and flash boil them... Use olive oil spray and your favorite seasoning and voilá a healthy potato :-) if mashed potato is your favorite use skim milk, and Greek yogurt instead of butter.
Now, cheese... Mmmmmm...cheese *drool... Lol the key to enjoying cheese is to experiment, buy rich flavorful cheeses that satisfy your craving with a minimal amount. The cheese evil is the goo that comes from a can and the powder in your box of pasta, and the crap they use to coat your crackers and chips... Pure, whole, rich foods is the way to go... It is more satisfying and you end up eating less.... Happy eating!

Poop

All right, we all do it... And no one likes to talk about it... But it is one of the most important bodily functions we have and a huge indicator on how healthy you are and how your diet is affecting you.
A healthy bowel movement should have a solid consistency with out being hard, and you should have at least 1 a day but with a healthy high fiber diet 2-3 times a day is not uncommon...
Constipation can cause high blood pressure, hemorroids, and polyps that could lead to colon cancer.
Diarrhea depletes the body of sodium, potassium, and water, leading to high blood pressure light headedness and fatique
I myself enjoy a good poop and if I go a whole day without one it can throw off my whole being...
Working out regularly can help stimulate the bowel track, hula hooping, pilates, yoga, and ab twists are wonderful for massaging the bowels.... I hope I wasn't too forward and if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to ask! :-)

Work out

Holy crow! I did the crunch bootcamp workout last night and didn't think anything of it as I was doing it... Today I am super sore! But it feels amazing ... I've been keeping very close track of my diet and trying to track my movement as well, shoveling, vaccuuming, the workout, driving... Everything.... It helps to compare the intake with the out put.... Tonight for dinner we had baked turkey meatballs with steamed broccoli and whole wheat penne with homemade cheese sauce... Made with nonfat milk, 1/3 fat cream cheese, and sharp cheddar... I hope you all have a safe and blessed evening, stay warm and shake your booty! Lol

New year new you

I have to admit I have slacked off way more than I even realized... I have started tracking my food again and have surprised myself at how much I have slacked on my eating habits.... So, it is time for diligence and detox.... I've been working out every day again, I have even been running every couple of days for two weeks now, which feels amazing... I hope you all are making progress with your goals and if you have any questions let me know! :-)

Metabolism

Well, I can tell my metabolism is reved back up into high gear, I'm back to working out every day, eating clean healthy food (and tons of it cause I'm starving all the time) but that tells me I'm doing something right and as long as I keep the calories that are going in clean healthy and balanced with what I'm burning I'm going to push past this plateau in no time! So what changes have you made to your routine?

Trying something new

Alright, I'm going to try using the Blogger app on my phone, there aren't any pretty colors though... Anyway, aside from me trying a new app, I suggest you try a new workout, or a new route on your walk, if you're used to walking hills, find a route that is flat and work on speed, if you're used to walking on flat ground, find some hills and work on strength.... If you're used to doing nothing but cardiovascular then work on strength and toning... Also, try something new when it comes to eating, find a new recipe online or in a recipe book... Or if you have something specific in mind that you would like to try and need help modifying let me know and I will help you figure it out. Happy eating!
